Environmental Impact Surveys

The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is a key aspect of many large scale planning applications so we keep aware of the latest revisions to the planning system particularly in regard to;

  • Agricultural Developments
  • Energy and Wind Farm Developments
  • Infrastructure
  • Sports and Recreational Facilities
  • Urban and Rural Residential and Commercial Development

We take clients through the requirements of Town and Country Planning (EIA) Regulations ID: 4 Updated: 15 04 2015.

The process.

  • Screening: We help to determine whether a planned project falls within the remit of the Regulations
  • Scoping: We define the extent of issues to be consideredbin the assessment and reported in the Environmental Statement
  • Preparing an Environmental Statement

Where an assessment is required, we compile the information required to assess the significant environmental effects of the development.

  • Making a planning application and consultation

We ensure statutory ‘Consultation Bodies’ and the public are given an opportunity to give their views about the proposed development and the Environmental Statement.

  • Final Decision Making

The Environmental Statement, together with any other information which is relevant to the decision, comments and representations made on it, must be taken into account by the local planning authority and or the Secretary of State in deciding whether or not to give consent for the development. The public must be informed of the decision and the main reasons for it.
